Sharing hope when it's needed most.

We are definitely living in some crazy times right now, and it can be so easy to feel stressed, anxious, scared, or unsure about what is to come next. It is in these uncertain times that we have to put our hope in Jesus. With all the chaos I have to remind myself that I am not in control of anything going on, and no man is in control either. God is in control and He will protect us and take care of us. My trust is in Jesus. I know He loves me and cares for me so I do not have to fear what is going on in the world around me.
While we, as Jesus followers may not be afraid because of our hope in God, there are so many people in the world who do not have that same hope and are so scared. As followers of Jesus we are called to be light to those in the darkness. We have the opportunity to share hope with those people who don't have it. Now, this will look a little different with the social distancing right now, but I have seen so many people sharing creative ways to share hope and a little smile with people who need it.
Here are some ideas of ways to share hope with the people who need it most:
-Call your friends! People are stuck at home and those extroverts are probably feeling pretty lonely so give them a call and let them know you are thinking about them.
-Write letters to people. It is so much fun to receive things in the mail, so write a sweet letter, draw a picture, or send something to someone who needs encouragement.
-Posting encouraging notes/scriptures on social media. A lot of people are at home scrolling, so posting online can be a great resource for sharing hope with others.
-Speak positively to people at the grocery stores. People are crazy, and those working at grocery stores right now are dealing with a lot of chaos. If we can be a little beam of sunshine for someone when we are checking out at the store, that might just be the only positivity they see all day.
I am sure you can think of so many other ways to share hope to those around us right now, but these are just a couple I thought of. We are living in a very unique time, so we have the chance to be creative with the way we share Jesus with others. If you think of any other ways to share hope feel free to leave a comment here so others can see. Thanks for reading, and may we feel peace in the fact that our God is in control.
"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence." Jeremiah 17:7 NLT
